ลูกแก้วที่ใช้กับวัสดุทำเครื่องหมายบนผิวทาง, ลูกแก้วสะท้อนแสง (Highway Safety Marking Spheres, Glass Beads For Road Marking Material) ที่ทาง บจก.ไทยโพลีเคมิคอล จำหน่ายนั้นได้รับการรับรองมาตรฐานผลิตภัณฑ์อุตสาหกรรม มอก. 543-2550 (TIS 543-2550) ประกอบด้วยเกรดต่างๆดังนี้

ลูกแก้ว มาตรฐาน มอก. 543-2550 ประเภท 1 (Reflective Glass Beads TIS 543-2550 Type 1) หรือลูกแก้ว A ใช้ผสมสีเทอร์โมพลาสติก (Thermoplastic Road Marking Paint) ส่วนผสมของลูกแก้วควรจะมีปริมาณอย่างน้อย 20-30% โดยน้ำหนักของสีเทอร์โมพลาสติก ทั้งนี้เพื่อการสะท้อนแสงที่ดีและเส้นสีมีความคงทน

ลูกแก้ว มาตรฐาน มอก. 543-2550 ประเภท 2 (Reflective Glass Beads TIS 543-2550 Type 2) หรือลูกแก้ว B หรือเรียกว่า Drop On ใช้สำหรับโรยเส้นทับหน้าสีจราจรชนิด Cold Paint, Hot Paint และสีThermoplastic ลูกแก้วจะถูกเคลือบด้วยน้ำยาป้องกันความชื้น ทั้งนี้เพื่อป้องกันลูกแก้วจับตัวกันเป็นก้อนและป้องกันการอุดตันที่หัวปล่อยลูกแก้ว ปริมาณลูกแก้วที่โรยทับหน้าควรอยู่ในช่วง 300 - 400 กรัมต่อตารางเมตร ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้การสะท้อนแสงและความคงทนของเส้นเกิดประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด

ความรู้เกี่ยวกับกลีเซอรีน

กลีเซอรีน เป็นของเหลวที่ไม่มีสี ไม่มีกลิ่น มีความหนืด และมีรสหวาน โดยปกติมาจากน้ำมันของพืช ซึ่งโดยทั่วไปคือ น้ำมันมะพร้าว และน้ำมันปาล์ม กลีเซอรีนสามารถละลายได้ดีในแอลกอฮอล์และน้ำ แต่ไม่ละลายในไขมัน เนื่องจากกลีเซอรีนมีคุณสมบัติทางเคมีที่หลากหลายจึงสามารถนำไปใช้เป็นสารตั้งต้นในการสังเคราะห์สารเคมีอื่นๆได้

ด้วยคุณสมบัติที่สามารถละลายในแอลกอฮอล์และน้ำได้นี้เอง จึงมีการนำไปใช้ประโยชน์อย่างกว้างขวาง ซึ่งกลีเซอรีนบริสุทธิ์ สามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ได้ในหลายรูปแบบ เช่น ใช้เป็นส่วนผสมหรือเป็นตัวช่วยในกระบวนการผลิตเครื่องสำอางผลิตภัณฑ์ในห้องน้ำและสุขอนามัยส่วนบุคคล อาหาร ยาสีฟัน ยาสระผม และนิยมใช้อย่างกว้างขวางในอุตสาหกรรมสบู่ เพราะกลีเซอรีนเป็นสารช่วยหล่อลื่นเหมือนมอยซ์เจอร์ไรเซอร์ เพื่อปกป้องผิวไม่ให้แห้งและดูดซับความชื้นเมื่อสัมผัสกับอากาศซึ่งจะทำให้รู้สึกว่าผิวมีความชุ่มชื้น มีความอ่อนโยนต่อผิว ขจัดความสกปรกที่ฝังแน่น ไม่ทำให้อุดตันรูขุมขน รวมทั้งปลอดภัยต่อผิวหนัง การที่กลีเซอรีน เป็นสารที่ไม่มีพิษในทุกๆรูปแบบของการประยุกต์ใช้ ไม่ว่าจะใช้เป็นสารตั้งต้นหรือสารเติมแต่ง ทำให้กลีเซอรีนเป็นสารเคมีที่ได้รับความสนใจและนำไปใช้ประโยชน์ทางการแพทย์ ด้วยการทำยาเหน็บทวาร ใช้เป็นยาระบาย และยังสามารถใช้เป็นยาเฉพาะที่ สำหรับรักษาความผิดปกติทางผิวหนังหลายชนิด รวมถึงโรงผิวหนัง ผื่น แผลไฟลวก แผลกดทับ และบาดแผลจากของมีคม กลีเซอรีนถูกใช้เพื่อรักษาโรคเหงือกได้ด้วย เนื่องจากกลีเซอรีนสามารถฆ่าเชื้อแบคทีเรียที่เกี่ยวข้องได้นั่นเอง

กลีเซอรีน (glycerine) อาจจะเรียกได้หลายชื่อ เช่น glycerol, glycerin, หรือ 1,2,3-propanetriol สามารถเขียนสูตรโมเลกุลทางเคมีได้เป็น CH2OHCHOHCH2OH เป็นสารไม่มีกลิ่น(odorless) ไม่มีสี(colorless) มีรสหวาน(sweet-tasting) เหมือนน้ำเชื่อม(syrupy liquid) กลีเซอรีน(glycerine) เป็น trihydric alcohol หลอมเหลวที่ 17.8 C เดือดและสลายตัว(Boil & decomposition) ที่ 290 C, ละลายในน้ำและเอทานอล ดูดกลืนน้ำจากอากาศ จึงนำไปทำเป็น moistener ในเครื่องสำอาง กลีเซอรีนจะอยู่ในรูปแบบของกลีเซอไรด์ (glycerides) ในไขน้ำมันพืช และน้ำมันสัตว์ กลีเซอรีน สามารถสังเคราะห์ได้จาก Propylene และจากการหมักน้ำตาลด้วย sodium bisulfite และยีสต์(yeast) และมีการผลิตเพิ่มขึ้นเรื่อยๆจากกระบวนการผลิตไบโอดีเซล(Biodiesel)

ประโยชน์ของกลีเซอรีน, กลีเซอรอล

1. ใช้เป็นตัวทำละลายในอุตสาหกรรมต่างๆ เนื่องจากสามารถละลายได้ดีในน้ำและแอลกอฮอล์

2. สำหรับอุตสาหกรรมเคมีใช้สำหรับเป็นสารตั้งต้นในการผลิตสารประกอบโพลิออล (polyol) สำหรับผลิตโฟม

3. กลีเซอรีน, กลีเซอรอล ที่มีความเข้มข้นมากกว่าร้อยละ 55 จะมีรสหวานสามารถใช้เป็นสารทดแทนน้ำตาลได้

4. กลีเซอรีน, กลีเซอรอล ที่เป็นสารจำพวก Hydroscopic มีคุณสมบัติดูดซับความชื้นในบรรยากาศได้ดี จึงนิยมนำมาใช้เป็นส่วนประกอบของผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ต้องการความนุ่ม ความยืดหยุ่น และเป็นครีม เช่น อุตสาหกรรมพลาสติกเพื่อให้มีความอ่อนตัว และยืดหยุ่นได้ดี

5. ใช้เป็นส่วนผสมของผลิตภัณฑ์เพื่อทำหน้าที่เป็น Thickening agent, Thickener หรือ Bodying agent เพราะสามารถให้ความหนืดได้ดี

9. ใช้ฉีดพ่นหรือเคลือบผลิตภัณฑ์ทางการเกษตรเพื่อรักษาความสด ป้องกันการระเหยของน้ำ เช่น ใช้พ่นใบยาสูบ และผลิตภัณฑ์จากการเกษตรชนิดอื่นๆ

10. ใช้เป็นส่วนผสมในผลิตภัณฑ์เครื่องสำอางสำหรับเป็นสารอิมัลชันในผลิตภัณฑ์ครีม และเป็นสารที่ทำหน้าที่รักษาความชุ่มชื้นทั้งในส่วนผสมของผลิตภัณฑ์ และรักษาความชุ่มชื้นแก่ผิว

Glycerine is also named as "Glycerin" and "Glycerol". However, Glycerine is the most common used in the world. Chemically, it is a trihydric alcohol as by product of oleochemicals and biodiesel production. After the process of refining for purification to become "Refined Glycerine", it will have glycerine content in a range between 99.5% or more. For physical properties of refined glycerine, it is water-soluble, clear or colorless, odorless, vicious, hygroscopic liquid with high boiling point. Refined glycerine can be used in many applications since it is non-toxic to human health and environment for example, food, personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or even foams. Our refined glycerine, so called glycerol, is derived from biodiesel-based glycerine with using non-GMO palm oil as feedstock. It is guaranteed at 99.5% minimum, USP Grade and Kosher certificate.
